Rider

Hello. Today I will be reviewing a game called Rider. It was developed by Ketchapp and Monkey Food games, so just like all of Ketchapp's other games, this was designed to be played with only one hand. Let's get into it.

       Rider is a simple 2D game where you travel along a track with hills, jumps, loops, and other moving obstacles. You can only control the bike in 2 ways. While in the ground, you must touch the screen to accelerate and while in the air, touching the screen will cause you to rotate backwards. This mechanic means that there is no way to brake or reverse on the ground, or rotate fowards in the air. There are only 2 things you can do to customize your character. You can change the look of your bike or change the colors of the track, background, and bike. The currency in the game is used to buy a random bike of varying rarities. These prices will increase with each bike you buy. This is the only thing you can use these gems on. The ways you can collect these gems are by driving through them on the track, watching a video, or completing objectives. There is currently no way to purchase these gems. There are two types of objectives. The first type is a daily challenge where you must collect letters to spell out a word that pertains to the game, like "flip" or "Ketchapp". The second type of objective is assigned when you complete the previous objective. This is something like "collect exactly 8 gems 3 times," or "land    3 perfect flips 3 games in a row". Overall, this is not a game that is desgined to be played for hours on end. It's great to whip out when you have some downtime, but that is what Ketchapp has in mind with most of its games. In conclusion, this game is a simple game that will keep you entertained for hours. If you have liked Keychapp games in the past, this will most likely be a game that you will enjoy.

Colassatron

Hey guys, JB here again. Now I will be reviewing Colassatron, a game by Halfbrick. This game is a survival game where you are a giant robotic snake that is trying to destroy the world. You have little control over the snake, and the largest influence you have is that toucan add different weapons to Colassatron. The 3 primary colours will spawn randomly throughout your game, and with them you can create a purple weapon, an orange weapon, and a green weapon. All the weapons will cycle every 4 hours, but you can permanently unlock them for 15 prisms, which you earn after each game. You can also combine 3 of the same colour weapon to make a more powerful one, and if you combine that one with 2 other of the same colour and power, you will make an even stronger one. Overall, this game is a fun game to play if you don't have WiFi or data.

CSR Racing 2

Hey guys, it's JB again. Today I will be reviewing CSR 2, a drag racing game made by Natural Motion. In CSR 2, your goal is to find out who stole one of your friend's cars by gaining the respect of different crews. You do this by beating the members of the crew in a drag race. This game is the third game in the CSR series (There was CSR Classic) and I prefer this game to CSR or CSR Classic because there are more cars and most of the cars are cooler. There is also a multiplayer mode where you can race other players. I am already in the final race of the final crew and use a Lamborghini Huracan. There is a large selection of cars from the Golf GTI to the Hennessey Venom GT. So far, I have the Golf GTI, the Subaru WRX STI, the Mustang GT, the Nissan GTR Premium, and the Lamborghini Huracan. This game is definitely fun and I recommend it.

Hocus

         Today, I will be reviewing Hocus, a game by gamebra.in. This is a really weird game where you try to get to the end, but the track is usually a perspective puzzle, or an impossible shape. The best way to complete a level is to explore every possibility until you find a successful one. These puzzles can be really confusing, but fun if you can figure them out. Overall, I recommend this game if you want a quick game to play that uses no data and little storage.

Fallout Shelter

Hey guys, it's JB. Today I will be reviewing Bethesda Studios' Fallout Shelter. In Fallout Shelter, you are the Overseer of a vault, which is basically a giant bunker. In the Xbox game, you learn that these were built in case of a nuclear war. In Fallout Shelter, this has obviously happened and you, as the Overseer, are trying to keep everyone in your vault alive and happy for as long as possible. There are 3 different resources in Fallout Shelter, and they are power, food, and water. Without power, your vault will shut down and your rooms won't make any resources. Without water, your dwellers will start to get radiation poisoning, and without food they will slowly lose health until they die. Some other resources are Stim-Paks and Rad-Aways. Stim-Paks can be used to heal a dweller, and Rad-Aways can be used to stop radiation poisoning. The way to start producing these resources is to assign dwellers to rooms to produce them. Some dwellers are better at certain rooms than others, as indicated by their S.P.E.C.I.A.L score. There are two main currencies, and those are Caps and Nuka-Cola Quantum. Nuka-Cola Quantum is used to speed things up, and Caps are used to buy said things. You can also send Dwellers out into the Wasteland to fight enemies, collect loot, and gain experience. There are things called lunch boxes, which are the "Mystery Boxes" of
the game. There is only 2 ways to get them; buying them with actual money, and getting them from missions. As you can see, this game can get really complicated, but if you can manage the chaos, this game is worth it.

Stack

          Hello. Today I will be reviewing Stack, a game by Ketchapp. This is an arcade-style game where you try to stack blocks, but there's a twist: it's in 3D. The blocks alternate directions, which adds another level of challenge. This game is simple but addictive, and has already wasted 1.5 hours of my life, and is sure to use up much more. My high score is 52, and that was achieved on my second to last round. Overall, I recommend this game if you want a simple, but addictive game that uses no data and little storage.

Battle Bay

Hey guys. Today I will be reviewing Battle Bay, a third person shooter from Rovio. The object of this game is to kill the 5 ships on the other team before your team is killed. Another way to win is to capture an area in the center of the map. This game uses a decent amount of storage. Battle Bay also has a very long tutorial, but it's worth it. This game does have in-app purchases, but they are not necessary to play. Overall, Battle Bay is a fun third person shooter game made by Rovio for mobile.

Asphault 8

        Hello, it's JB again. Today I will be reviewing Asphalt 8: Airborne​, a racing game by Gameloft. It's a very fun game, and is a game where you can race around a track instead of drag racing. There are many cool cars and fun modes. The cars are well balanced and the races require skill, not just a good car, and there is a wide variety of cars to chose from. One downside is that this game requires almost a gigabyte of storage, so you may have to clear out some other games. It also has lots of things happening, so it might lag on slower phones. Overall, if you have a good phone and lots of storage, I recommend this game because it is fun, requires skill, and is different than the typical drag racing game.

Hello. Today I am going to be reviewing a very fun game called RoverCraft. It's a lot like Hill Climb Racing, but better. In RoverCraft, you are trying to build a rover and drive the farthest distance before running out of power or dying. First, you design a rover. It must have wheels, a cockpit, and a battery. After you design your rover, you venture out and try to travel as far as possible. You can buy other wheels, batteries, frames, and cockpits. You can even buy a rocket! Using all these items, you must drive over hills, valleys, and sometimes random blocks. Everything is not square, thankfully. After you drive a certain distance, you will need to refuel. There are battery packs across the map that allow you to refuel. There are also coins of different values between you and your goal.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Another Blog! Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the latest Call of Duty game and it is made by Infinity Ward, who made the Modern Warfare series. There is 3 game modes; campaign, zombies, and multiplayer. This game's campaign doesn't continue the Modern Warfare campaign, so you can just play this without buying Modern Warfare. This game comes with 1 Zombies map, which is titled Zombies in Spaceland. This is an abandoned theme park overrun with zombies. It's a decent map, and a little easier than Shadows of Evil. The multiplayer is definitely fun, and they have included upgraded weapons, but anyone can get them. I spend most of my time playing Multiplayer. There are many fun maps and gamemodes.

Terraria

       Hello again. Now I will be reviewing Terraria, a fun 2D game where you can explore, build, mine, fight bosses, and befriend NPCs. It sounds like Minecraft, but the more you play, the less the games are similar. You start out in a world with 1 NPC, your guide. He is helpful, but if you play the tutorial, his advice is repetitive. The first thing you should do is chop down a tree with your axe and build a house for him. A house has to be 6 blocks tall and 12 blocks wide, have walls, a door, a light source, a table, and a chair. There are many more NPCs that you will either find or will come to you. They can sell very useful items. They also need houses. The goal of this game is to beat the Wall of Flesh. To do this, you have to go to the underworld, get a guide voodoo doll, throw it into lava, and kill it. This activates hard mode, where everything is harder. (Wow, never would have guessed.) To truly win, you must do this again.
There are many weapons and tools, and tons of artifacts, armors, and items.

       Hello. I know I haven't posted in a while, so I am going to do 4 other posts today. I am going to be reviewing Rodeo Stampede, a fairly popular game at my school and a fun time-killer. In Rodeo Stampede, you are trying to tame animals for your zoo to make money. You do this by riding animals in a stampede and jumping from animal to animal. You have to stay on each different animal for a certain amount of time. There is a meter to the side of the animal. Be careful, though. The animals try to throw you off! There are missions you can do to make money to buy or upgrade your animal habitats so you can get cool bonuses in the stampede. The more animals you have, the more money you make every time your park opens. This is a third-person running game similar to Temple Run, but there is more movement.

Call of Duty Black Ops III: DLC 1 Awakening

          Hey guys, JB here. Today I will be branching out and doing a review of an add-on for the new Call of Duty. The Call of duty game is required to use this DLC (Downloadable Content).

Multiplayer Maps:

          There are 4 multiplayer maps and they are: Skyjacked (Remake of hijacked from BO2), Splash, Gauntlet, and Rise. Skyjacked is the almost exact copy of its predecessor Hijacked. It is one of my favorite maps and I actually prefer it to NUK3TOWN, as it's called in BO3. Splash is a somewhat large map with lots of water. The setting is and abandoned waterpark. Gauntlet is an abandoned military training facility where the three lanes of the map are three different terrains. They are a rainy urban city, a jungle, and an arctic biome. Finally, we come to Rise, a research campus on the outskirts of Zurich. Each section of the map offers distinctly different types of gameplay.


Zombies Map:

The Zombies map in Awakening is called Der Eisendrache and is actually really fun. There are plenty of buildables such as a bow and a shield. It's very complex, but once you learn the map it becomes easier. Also, it's a bit hard to set up, but once you do, it gets easier to play. Tip: if you go prone in front of the perk machines, you get a bonus 100 points. Only one person per machine can do it, so either don't tell your team or say that the person who opened the last door should get it. It's 700 points total (I think. If Der Wonderfizz also works then 800), which is almost enough for a box hit and to cover the KRM.
Overall I think DLC Awakening is a legit DLC. It's worth $15 bucks or if you bought the season pass, it 's worth that too.

Rare replay is a game consisting of retro games for the Xbox One. This will be a quick review of a pretty self-explanatory game. Most kids won't recognize these games, but your parents might.

Forza Motorsport 6

Hey guys. I apologize for not posting in a while, so I'm going to do a few quite rapidly. This one is on a game I quite like for the Xbox One. It's quite different from the usual FPS game I'd be reviewing. Here it is.


Forza Motorsport 6, which I will be referring to as Forza 6, is a racing game were you can race other people or computer-controlled opponents. There is extremely realistic graphics and the interior of the cars is detailed to the point of fans on the AC controls. This game also hasn't glitched in the first few months I've had it. It also is a nice break from killing and blowing up stuff in Call of Duty. My dad likes it, my sister likes it, I like it, it's definitely a game for all ages. Definitely worth the $60 they're charging at Gamestop

Time Surfers

         

    Hey guys, JB here. Today I'm reviewing Time Surfer, an app that I've been wanted to get for a while, but now it's free, so it's a great excuse to get it. Let's hop right in.

       Time Surfer is a 2D game where you try and avoid the end of the world. The only way to do this is by rewinding time and diving. When I say diving, I mean shooting to the ground when flying through the air. however, if you aren't flying through the air, it also helps to dive when going down hills. Also, you can only rewind time so much. There also are 4 modes, Time Surfer, which is a mix of all of them, Holiday Hills, which is a set course where you have to complete it in a certain amount of time, Hell Zone, where it has lots of spikes and gaps, and The Kepler Run, where there are lots of asteroids. You can also take a pet with you, and gain different powers. Overall, this game has solid coding and hasn't glitched in the month I've had it.

Star Battlefront

      Hey, guys. JB here. In this blog, I will be reviewing Star Wars Battlefront 3. If you didn't know, this is the second remake of the 2004 first/third person shooter Star Wars Battlefront. Let's hop right into it.

      As I mentioned, Star Wars Battlefront (Which I will be calling SWB from now on) is a first and third person shooter. This basically means if you are playing as Darth Vader, you can either be looking over his shoulder or seeing out of his eyes. (Third and First person). Examples of FPS include the Halo saga, the Call of Duties, and Battlefield. Third Person shooters include Gears of War, Grand Theft Auto, and the Hitman series. There are many different modes, and most of which I have not explored. I really like SWB, and a very solid game overall. You also should watch all the movies. Gameplay is fantastic, and all the guns are well balanced.

Bloons Tower Defense 5

Bloons Tower Defense is obviously a tower defense game, which means you place different towers with different abilities to try and stop a type of enemy from getting off the track. There isn't much to say, so let's hop right in.

In Bloons (yes, that is how you spell it) Tower Defense 5, you buy different towers to try to stop balloons from getting into the monkey villages. All the towers are monkey-themed. The tower balance is terrible, but that's the idea. every balloon popped grants you one point, and to buy a tower, you spend points. You can buy special agents with monkey money, which is obtained by purchase or track completion. I can't say much because it is a fundamental game.

Halo 5

Hey guys, JB here. This is the fifth game in the Halo series which is owned by Microsoft ( and partially developed by 343) , which means that Halo is only available on the Xbox consoles. If you haven't seen or played Halo before, you are a super soldier, or Spartan IV, and you wear a super suit of armor. You stand at over 7.5 feet tall, can run up to 60 KPH and have many augmentations that allow you to operate the armor. Your Artificial Intelligence unit has reached the end of her operational "life". That's all I'm giving away about her. You have been reunited with you old squadron titled Blue squad.

This game is another excellent installment in the Halo series that includes a campaign and multiplayer. It also includes "The Flood", or a zombies-like mode. The campaign is unparalleled and the multiplayer is pretty good too. There is a new currency called REQ points which allow you to purchases weapons or vehicles to use in-game. You cannot buy REQ points, so this system is completely fair. There isn't much bad to say about Halo, except this new game is only on the Xbox One. This is my favorite Halo game so far and my favorite game overall. Weapon balance is excellent and now all weapons have a scope. There is minimal human blood and it is truly awesome to play this game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

        Hey, guys. This is JB. I apologize for not blogging in a while, but today I will be churning out quite a few blogs. I have been gifted an Xbox One over Christmas, so I will be doing a few Xbox game reviews. Today's first will be on the new Call of Duty. If you do not know, Call of Duty (CoD) is an FPS (First Person Shooter) game franchise owned by Activision. Every year, Activision releases a new CoD featuring a guest studio. Treyarch made this game, and a few other alternating guests are Sledgehammer games and Infinity Ward.


     Call of Duty: Black ops 3 (which I will now refer to BO3) is a futuristic shooter that takes place after CoD: Advanced Warfare. BO3's gimmick is that you are a soldier with a Direct Neural Interface in you head. This allows you to hack and remotely operate things in the campaign. BO3 allows you to remove some of the graphic content like most of the blood, gore, swearing, and potentially disturbing scenes. It can get pretty bad, so I would recommend turning the filter on if you are more squeamish. In multiplayer, you now have augmentations allowing you to slide, boost jump, and wall run. There is also new Specialists which each have an ability and a weapon. The balace is excellent and there is no "God Gun" like previous CoDs. You can now buy CoD points, which are the in-game currency to buy supply drops and new things for zombies called "Gobblegum" this for a time gives you a buff to allow you to kill more zombies quicker. Nightmare zombies is back and a new mode titled Freerun allows you to get comfortable with the new movement abilities before going into multiplayer.


 The ESRB has rated CoD: BO3 M for mature for mature or 17+
